A book that does not promise transformation. That does not romanticize ceremonies. A reflection on emotional preparation, responsibility and personal growth.

Profound experiences can open questions. But
real change depends on personal work.
If you are considering your first experience
And you do not know how to prepare, what to ask, or how to choose who will accompany you.
If you have already had a difficult experience
And no one helped you integrate it, and you are still carrying it without knowing what to do.
If you feel the call but still have doubts
About whether this is the right moment, whether you are ready, or whether what you feel is urgency or something true.
If you accompany others on this path
And you want to understand what it means to truly hold space, without invading or controlling.
If you have lived through profound experiences that changed your life
But you feel that something in the integration is not working and what you lived through is not becoming part of your life.
If you want to understand these processes more clearly
Personal transformation and mental health, beyond mysticism and empty promises.
This is not a book of recipes. It is a guide for reflection before, during and after significant experiences. It will not tell you what medicine to take, when to take it or how. It does not romanticize the experience or present it as a shortcut to awakening.
It is written from more than thirty years of direct presence: as a seeker who broke apart, as a witness who held others while they broke apart, as someone who learned —sometimes late— that not everyone who guides knows how to hold space.
What you will find here is what no one tells you before you enter: how to prepare, how to discern, what happens during the experience, how to integrate what opened, and why the real process begins after it closes.
The preparation no one requires of you
but that changes everything
How to prepare internally, which questions open the door, how to choose the person who will accompany you, and what to expect from preparation and context.
Being present
without trying to understand everything
What happens when the soul truly opens: how to surrender, how to sustain yourself, what to do in a crisis and how to recognize care in the environment.
The real path
begins when the experience closes
Integration, settling, the necessary silence, the risk of closing too quickly, and what keeps moving even when you cannot yet see it.
Profound experiences are also studied
science and psychedelics

Raised between the rainforest of Florencia, Caquetá, and the chaos of the city, Víctor Silva grew up in an environment where violence and addiction were part of the everyday landscape. That wound became the engine of a search that would take him, for more than three decades, alongside Indigenous elders, taitas, pajés, marakames and shamans in Colombia, Peru, Brazil and Mexico.
For more than 30 years he has accompanied processes of personal growth and reflection in Latin America. First as a seeker who broke apart. Then as a witness. Later as a companion. He does not speak from theory. He speaks from what it costs.
His writing does not console or promise. It names what is there, stays with what hurts and returns the reader to their own responsibility. An experience can open questions, but inner work always depends on each person.
The first chapter tells the origin of this book: Víctor’s personal story, the wound that set him on this path, and what he learned from thirty years of accompanying human processes.
Free. No commitment. Just the chapter.
